I’d initially done my preseason class rankings and New Year’s class rankings so I thought instead of just a Top 20 this week I’d go ahead and put out a Top 15 in each class. The top 2 in 4A was pretty much set in stone throughout much of the season until a Saturday night happened. It doesn’t change the fact that it would be a big surprise to me if Fishers and Crown Point aren’t on a collision course in the semi state. The 4A South certainly more wide open but there’s 4 or 5 teams that have sort of separated themselves as likely to make it to state. 3A North also got a little more interesting over the past few weeks with Gary West and New Haven emerging as legit threats. 3A south may be the most set in stone but still interesting in all the classes. Silver Creek would complete for a state title in a non-class tournament this year, much less 3A but who they’ll get to match up with is intriguing. 2A North also just got a huge wake up with Gary 21st becoming fully healthy and arguably the biggest W of the season on Saturday v. Crown Point. 2A South is full of teams that could make it to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Any one of my 10 teams (and a few from outside) could represent the South in 2A this year. In 1A North, Kouts has ran the table so far and look to have a firm hold as favorites. While in 1A South there’s about 4 or 5 I wouldn’t be surprised at. Maybe you agree with them, and maybe you don’t, but here’s how I see it as of February 3rd. Let’s take a look at the first of February’s edition of Class Rankings.
